If your business is located in St. Mary's County, you can join MSLBA
through your local affiliate, the
St. Mary's County Licensed
Beverage Association (SMCLBA).
SMCLBA
represents
alcohol beverage license retailers, including taverns, restaurants, package liquor
stores, hotels, bowling alleys and fraternal clubs. When you join us, your dues
include membership in our state affiliate, the Maryland State Licensed Beverage
Association (MSLBA) and our national affiliate, the American Beverage Licensees
(ABL).
OUR PURPOSE:
SMCLBA
is a non-profit trade
organization, formed in on January 14, 1953 in Mechanicsville, to protect and to preserve the interests of St. Mary's
County alcohol beverage retailers.
LEGISLATIVE:
SMCLBA
monitors
the issuance of new licenses and transferred licenses in St. Mary's County by our local
liquor board and stays on top of local issues by having representation at every liquor
board meeting. Each year, while the legislature is in session in Annapolis, we
actively review proposed legislation and represent our members on the MSLBA Legislative
Committee, which meets weekly during the session.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS:
SMCLBA has been
active in the community through donations to the Christmas in April Program, the Toys for
Tots Program and the local food kitchens. Additionally, SMCLBA
has worked with the Tri-County Council Designated Driver
Program.
